The US suspended the expedited processing of H1B visa commencing April 3, 2017.  An H1B applicant, now, cannot expedite the processing by paying premuim processing of $1,225 fee with the Service, and must wait for 6 to 9 months to have his case adjudicated.  The USCIS explained its decision by the necessity to work through the backlong of long pending petition.  This suspension may last up to 6 months.
